The Challenge
Complex multi-faceted environmental approvals were required from both state and federal governments, including permission under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act due to the surrounding Ramsar Wetlands. In addition a complex Cultural Heritage Management Plan was also required.
PPP's Outcome
An independent planning panel recommended rezoning of the land in the face of many submissions against the proposal and a lengthy approvals process. The final issue of a planning permit allows a significant expansion on existing marina operations.
